Chambers Cable & SROA are in discussions regarding a Contract Extension

Chambers Cable of Sunriver and the Sunriver Owner's Association (SROA) are currently in the process of negotiating a renewal of their telecommunications service agreement. The rolling agreement is up for renewal in July of 2015. Chambers and the SROA are discussing a partnership to provide the next generation communications infrastructure around a common goal to keep Sunriver and its customers at the cutting edge of technological growth. As Sunriver grows, Chambers will grow with it.

Over the past month, I have had a chance to meet with many business owners, homeowners, and members of the SROA. I’ve received a lot of positive feedback about our customer service and commitment to Central Oregon. In particular, our clients have expressed how happy they are with our recent roll-out of 12 mbps Internet speeds. Very soon, we'll also be adding additional networks to the Chambers Cable line-up, many of them in HD. We’ll send out more information to our customers as soon as the details are finalized.

Chambers Cable is currently negotiating with the SROA on a new contract so we can continue to provide advanced technology and outstanding service to our customers for many years to come.

Chambers Cable was awarded its’ first contract to provide services to Sunriver in 1987. Since then we have received regular contract renewals based on meeting or exceeding agreed performance standards.

Over the years, Chambers Cable has made significant investments in the cable system in Sunriver. Over the past 2 years, we have completed a digital upgrade of the system, allowing us to bring more channels, increased HD programming and new services to the community. We have implemented new tools to make it possible for our customers to better manage their cable accounts on-line. Chambers Cable's fiber-rich delivery infrastructure makes our system easily expandable. For example, on January 13, 2012, we doubled our data capacity, allowing delivery up to 12 Mbs high-speed internet to our customers. The current system is capable of even faster speeds to meet the growing needs of Sunriver for decades to come.

The Chambers family is proud to support many local charities and organizations, making a critical difference in our community. Since 2000, the Chambers Family Foundation has donated $12 million across the region and over $435,000 to support dozens of non-profits throughout Central Oregon, including the High Desert Museum, Volunteers in Medicine, Assistance League, Bethlehem Inn, Sparrow Clubs, Habitat for Humanity, Mountain Star Relief Nursery, Saving Grace, the Sunriver Music Festival and many others.

Chambers Cable pays 3% of annual revenue to the Sunriver Owner’s Association (SROA) general fund which amounted to about $83,000 in 2011.
